Episode 6: Interview with Allison Nau

In episode 6, we bring you our interview with Allison Nau.

Allison is an experienced data leader, and was previously the Managing Director of Cox Automotive Data Solutions, establishing Data Solutions as a new business unit with a focus on delivering actionable insight within Cox Automotive and to the used car industry more widely. Prior to joining Cox Automotive Allison was Product Director at LexisNexis, where she oversaw the launch of half a dozen data and analytics products for the UK motor insurance sector. Having started her career as a Data Scientist at an InsurTech start-up, she is passionate about helping people use information to transform the way the world works. Allison holds a BA from the College of Wooster in mathematics and international relations, and an MA from the University of Michigan in quantitative political science.

We talked about her journey to Data Science leadership, how she then setup an entirely new business unit at Cox Automotive, how enterprise business culture can be a challenge to overcome, and how wider data literacy can help with that. We also touch on optimal strategies to choose a queue at the supermarket.
